FINAL(LY!) CLASS GRADES

hi all,

ok, we are finally done with the grading, and you should receive your grades shortly.

as usual, we applied grades adjustments to all of you for the final exam, based
on the class average. again, note that it is NOT a curve but just an offset, to
try and be accurate in our evaluation, as well as consistent between quarters.

we added extra points, 6 total, to the individual problems in which the class
average was below 60%. moreover, to make up for the fact that we all realized
that somehow this was a difficult quarter, we decided to add a bonus of 10 more
points to all of your finals.

the project was also hard, and we applied the adjustment that I had already told you about
some time ago in class. that is, we computed your score based on the top 4 out of 5
parts of the project, individually, of course. and to make up for the fact that we were
late in grading it, we added an extra 100 points to all of you, which are all _extra_credit_,
that is, they are added to your score, with the percentage still computed based
on a 400 points max. that's why many of you will see a score sometimes significantly
higher than 100%.

ok, that's all. thank all of you for a really good quarter. I really enjoyed our interaction in class.
it was a lot of work on both sides, but I hope all of us have learned a lot.
I certainly did. as some of you already know from experience, teaching is possibly the
best way of learning.

and of course thank you to our wonderful team: alexandra, jared, and gregory.
they really worked with outstanding passion and dedication, with no time or space or
maternity boundaries.
